In the new PowNed series "Forbidden Love" we follow special couples leading up to a special romantic moment, such as living together and a wedding. They have one thing in common: the immediate environment does not agree with their relationship. How do couples overcome resistance to their love? From Tuesday, February 2 at 8:20 PM on NPO 3.
In this 8-part series we meet Denise (28) and Sjef (65). They are a whopping 36 years in age, much to the concern of Denise's father. He is deeply concerned about the future of his daughter, who may find herself alone again far too soon due to her partner's advanced age. Will the state pension holder Sjef succeed in winning the acceptance of his eight years younger father-in-law?
The Burgundian Mattias (28) and Steven (27) are ready for their wedding, but Mattias' mother Eltje prays to God every day in the hope that her son will still come home with a woman. She loves her son unconditionally and the couple are welcome in her home as "friends", but she does not like to visit them. Will Mattias manage to get his deeply religious mother to the engagement party?
Chamara (22) and Esmay (23) were known for a long time as "best friends". At the time, Esmay was welcomed with open arms by Chamara's family, but after their coming out everything changed. Her family finds a lesbian relationship contrary to the Christian faith and even put Chamara on the street. Is there still a chance for a reconciliation for this loving couple?
"Forbidden Love" is based on the Australian format "Bride & Prejudice" and is produced by Vincent TV Productions. The program can be seen weekly from Tuesday 2 February at 8:20 PM on PowNed on NPO3.
